ISLAND OF LOVE
1983

Adolf Born's Island of Love is a symbolic intertwining of the present with the admired past, which the author loved very much. Some of his compositions, although grotesque, may also carry a more serious reflection on the time of their creation. The figures set in urban corners are a kind of lament by Born for a vanished world he admired and a protest against the aesthetics of the era with which he could not identify. He created his own more colorful world, reflecting his unique poetics and bringing together his favorite personalities and animals.
