František Tichý (1896 - 1961) MERMAID ON A SEAHORSE

The 1940s and 1950s are often referred to as Tichý's creative peak. He created illustrations and graphic art, and was a professor at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, where he taught drawing and graphic art. In 1946, he was elected a member of the Czech Academy of Sciences and Arts. The drawing comes from the estate of photographer Josef Sudek.
