Bohumil Kafka (1878 - 1942) SCENT OF ROSES

Before Kafka traveled to Paris, where he drew inspiration from the modernist tendencies of A. Rodin and A. Bourdelle, he created a number of sculptures in the Art Nouveau style. The plaque on offer, featuring a woman surrounded by roses, corresponds in its composition and ornamentation to the Art Nouveau style of Alfons Mucha. Text below: dedicated by Mánes / 1900.
