Jan Slavíček (1900 - 1970) TREE BY THE PATH

Jan Slavíček, son of Antonín Slavíček, enjoyed painting in the Orlické Mountains near Rybná nad Zdobnicí. He studied landscape painting under Otakar Nejedlý and traveled abroad several times to study. His landscape paintings feature both a more modern style and one that seamlessly follows in the footsteps of his father's work. Even his choice of landscape segments with a long road disappearing into the horizon, a golden field, suggested scenery, and a lone tree strongly resembles the work of Antonín Slavíček from Kameničky.
