Petr Horák (1974) SHIPS

Petr Horák trained as a stonemason and currently lives in Milotice near Kyjov. Stone work was too monotonous and he became a freelance sculptor. As an autodidact he found harmonious form in abstract shapes. He chooses stone mainly because of its possibilities and durability, as stone, with its fragile and indomitable nature, is also formative for the psyche of the person who works it. Rather than the resulting shape, he focuses on free creative activity and the works are created partly according to a sketch, partly as free improvisation.
