Petr Holeček first studied art education in České Budějovice, followed by a drawing course in Ireland, and in 2004 he settled in Ireland and became an assistant in the studio of sculptor Patrick O. Reilly. This artistic encounter had a defining influence on the future direction of Holeček's work. In Petr Holeček's works we encounter a poetic-ironising level, which builds on analogies to motifs from mythology, dreams and the collective unconscious, but with a touch of human humour. He discovers the technique of casting bronze into a lost form. This material and technology allows him to materialize previously unrealized thoughts and ideas. The offered sculpture won the main prize of "The Goodbody Sculpture Awards" in 2022. The sculpture was also part of the Sculpture in Context exhibition at The National Botanic Gardens in Glasnevin, Dublin.
