An elegant salon table designed for a room from the Second Empire, the reign of Napoleon III in France, with figural decoration in gilded bronze stretching from the end of the dynamic legs to the one-piece hoop on the top with an impressive highly crafted inlay representing a lush floral still life in a vase. The furniture workshops of the Second Empire are characterized by working with previous epochal styles through new techniques along with the choice of precious woods and materials. Haussmann's rebuilding of Paris was underway at this time. Completely restored, excellent condition.
