Since his return from a study stay in Paris in 1905, Vojtěch Preissig has been working independently and founding the Czech Graphics edition. In 1909 he published his own book Color Etching and Color Engraving. However, after unsuccessful management of his own graphic workshop, he left Prague in 1910 and left for the USA, where The Art Students League in New York (1912), Teachers College of Columbia University, can be counted among the important locations. It introduces linocut and other special graphic techniques in America for the first time. From 1916 to 1918, he worked as a graphic designer in Boston to lead the large School of Printing and Graphic Arts at the Wentworth Institute.
