Vladimír Novák attended an ornamental course at the Industrial School of Art in Prague, listened to lectures on the history of art at the Faculty of Philosophy and was also active as an art clerk at Prague papers. He illustrated books and humorous magazines, designed diplomas, participated in various competitions, painted and worked in the art industry.
