The bronze sculpture on a green onyx round pedestal is the work of the important Czech sculptor and glyptic artist Josef Drahoňovský, who began teaching at the Prague School of Applied Arts in 1911. Since 1918 he has been cutting glass and gemstones with great intensity. Glyptics captivated him and, in addition to his work as a teacher and sculptor, he created works in this field whose fame soon crossed borders and Drahoňovský became a renowned artist in Europe. We find articles about his achievements, for example, in Zlaté Praze, Český květ, Topič's anthology, Volné směry and in many foreign journals and anthologies.
