The Sleeping Noah drawing belongs to the unique works of Josef Lada, the creation of which is directly connected with a specific person. Josef Lada created it for the winemaker Karel Novák, who owned a wine bar near the Týn Temple, which was popularly visited by painters and poets, who left a memory of him in the visitor's book. It was no different in the case of Josef Lady. The icon of Czech painting and illustration with the typical handwriting of strong lines and rounded shapes of the figures belongs to the popular celebration of holidays and Czech folklore.
