A "SOMNO" BIEDERMEIER SIDE TABLE

A wooden bedside table of cylindrical shape on a square base with a wooden top, semi-circular doors with two hinges and a brass amphora-shaped plate revealing two shelves. The 'somno' type bedside table appears in the early 19th century. The top is usually marble in France, while the wooden top appears in Central Europe during the Biedermeier period.
