Julis Konrad Hentschel (1872 - 1907) A CHILD WITH A DOLL

Konrad Hentschel was a painter, designer, and sculptor, and a leading figure of the Art Nouveau movement. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and Dresden. From 1889, he worked as a modeler at the Meissen porcelain manufactory. The highlight of his figurative work is the series known as the “Hentschelkinder,” twelve figurines of children at play from the first decade of the 20th century, from which this statuette originates. Restored – a part of the doll has been professionally repaired.
