Karel Valter was not only a prominent artist, but also an educator and musician. Landscapes were the focus of his artistic work, with his key period being his work from around 1980 onward, in which his expressive style and a certain sense of drama are most evident. In landscapes, he sought inner connections and a distinctive poetic sensibility, which served as inspiration for his work.
