Japanese lighting designer and artist Motoko Ishii is famous for her lighting of the Tokyo Tower (1989) and the Light Fantasy Electricity pavilion at the International Garden and Greenery Exhibition in Osaka (1990), for which she won an award from the North American Society of Lighting Engineers. This chandelier was designed by her in the 1980s for the prominent lighting manufacturer Staff Leuchten (now RZB Lighting). It consists of twelve lights with opaline covers, which together form a polyhedral geometric formation, mounted on a chrome base. Electrified.
