This set of six chairs, featuring masterfully executed gilded and polychrome carvings and a timeless backrest design in the spirit of the emerging Biedermeier period, is, judging by the quality of the craftsmanship, attributed to the workshop of the famous Viennese furniture maker Joseph Ulrich Danhauser, whose work ranks among the finest of its time. The chairs are part of a set that belonged to the last Knight of Malta in Bohemia. Fully restored.
