Václav Suchomel (1869 - 1930) A GIRL WITH GRAPES

The statue was created by Václav Suchomel, a teacher at the Hořice School of Stone Carving and the creator of several public monuments. He was born in 1869 in Tábor, graduated from the Hořice School of Stone Carving in 1890, and furthered his education at the Vienna Academy under Professor Kundmann. He returned to the Hořice school in 1899 as a teacher, was soon promoted to professor, and remained loyal to the institution until his death in 1930. The height includes the base.
