Václav Frydecký’s work was profoundly influenced by his training under Jan Lauda, a follower of Štursa’s legacy, under whom he refined his ability to observe reality with intellectual curiosity and translate it directly into sculpturally effective works. The artist’s figurative work can be traced back to 1956 in connection with the sculpture group in Františkovy Lázně, Two Women. The offered sculpture of a female nude, Haná, on which Frydecký worked between 1964 and 1965, has a variant in a preparatory study and, in addition to bronze, also in stone. He left the academic environment in 1971 and devoted himself to monumental sculpture in collaboration with architects. This is an original bronze cast, which the owner acquired directly from the artist. Published: DVOŘÁK, František. Václav Frydecký. Illustrated by Václav FRYDECKÝ. [Prague]: Jakura, 2009, p. 44.
