Oil on canvas, signed on bottom left: "Fernand Vácha La Toilette". As the family long lived in France due to commissions given to the artist's father, painter Rudolf Vácha, Ferdinand Vácha was born in Paris. He studied painting in Nantes and later at the Prague Academy under professors Jakub Obrovský and Max Švabinský. He primarily focused on portraits and illustrations, but was also known as a costume designer. He designed the set and costumes for a famous film starring Lída Baarová and Oldřich Nový, Dívka v Modrém, for the film Noční Motýl staring Hana Vítová, and the musical Limonádový Joe. Nude Girl – Toilette is a quiet lyrical painting featuring balanced muted tones, instructed by French modern art.
