Bohumil Kubišta (1884 - 1918) MOTIV AUS FLORENZ

Bohumil Kubišta studied with V. Bukovac at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. He shaped the arrival of the Osma and SVU group generation to the Czech art scene and represents its leading personality. He was strongly inspired by post-impressionist and expressionist tendencies, he carefully considered the geometry of the composition and color schemes and their psychological effects. He emphasized formal balance and inner content, which often has an existential or mystical message.
