Hugo Boettinger (1880 - 1934) DRAWING A NUDE

Hugo Boettinger was a multi-talented artist. He created cartoons, prints, puppets, illustrations and also painted. He created numerous thematic series of Art Nouveau nude paintings, where the central theme is relaxation, bathing in the open air, or the grace of the human body in tense dance poses. Boettinger also published caricatures at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague under the pseudonym Dr. Desiderius and collaborated with the magazines Šibeničky, Volné směry and Lidové noviny, among others.
