Mario Malfer (1941) ITALIAN COUNTRYSIDE

Mario Malfer creates his works in the Tuscany region, using almost Fauvist colors and breaking down landscapes into geometric shapes that are meant to recall the past of the landscape and, in the true sense, dig into its deeper layers. He tries to create a kind of tangible impression from ancient Roman monuments, geometrically decorated ceramics and works with abstraction in a way similar to mosaic.
