Alois Kalvoda (1875 - 1934) LANDSCAPE WITH BIRCHES

Alois Kalvoda had a natural feeling for the colour of the landscape and was one of the most sought-after pupils of the Mařák Landscape Specialty. The summer birch trees by the road between the fields reveal both his light melancholy and his effort to conceive even relatively simple landscapes in a very decorative way with looser, impressively tuned brushstrokes.
