Josef Dumek (1909 - 2002) SURREALIST COMPOSITION

While clouds of dictatorship and war were gathering in neighboring Germany, a group of artists sympathetic to surrealism and inspired by André Breton was active in democratic Czechoslovakia. Among the avant-garde was Josef Dumek, an artist who is little known today but whose work was of high quality.
