BRONZE TIBET – WHITE TARA

Tibet, approximately early 20th century. Classic Tibetan work depicting White Tara on a lotus base. Cast solid bronze, partially heavily gilded. The bronze, made using the lost wax method, is covered on the bottom with a copper plate engraved with the so-called visvavajra, or protective symbol created by crossing two objects known as "vajra" or, in Tibet, more commonly as "dorje." A captivating authentic object.
