Porcelain sculpture executed in the style of so-called blanc de Chine, denoting smooth white glazed porcelain without polychrome decoration. The piece depicts a female monkey with two offspring. The mother is seated on a rocky base, touching her tongue with her left hand and forming a pronounced grimace. One of the young clings to her body, while the other sits on her thigh in a pensive pose. The sculpture is a reproduction of a Baroque model by Johann Gottlieb Kirchner, originally created for the Meissen manufactory before 1733. The scene reflects the period's fascination with exotic animals portrayed in dramatic and naturalistic compositions, combining anatomical dynamism with anthropomorphic elements.
