Krištof Kintera, one of the Czech Republic's most distinctive contemporary artists, works in various media; his kinetic works have become popular not only for their intricate mechanical design, but also for their playfulness and humor.

He gained recognition among Praguers for his two atypical monuments – Of One's Own Volition, a memorial dedicated to suicide victims under Nusle Bridge; and Bike to Heaven, dedicated to Auto*Mat founder Jan Bouchal and all cyclists killed in car accidents in Prague. Krištof Kintera studied under Professor Milan Knížák at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and at the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten in Amsterdam. He was nominated for the Jindřich Chalupecký Award three times. He is a member and leading figure in Jednotka art group. He was a contributor to the Entropa installation in Brussels. In 2012 and 2013 he received the Ministry of Culture's achievement award for his work on the Czech art scene. His work is represented in a number of major international public and private collections (National Gallery in Prague, Prague City Gallery, Museum der Moderne Salzburg, Rubell Family Art Collection Miami, Enrico Boglione Torino, Brooke and Danile Neidich New York, Thomas Day Newbold, Thomas Olbricht Essen, Graf Spee Geneva, Jerry I. Speyer New York and others.)
