Especially for this year's special auction, Pasta Oner created the painting John Evangelist, whose theme builds on the project Art is Truth – in which the principles of the high and the low, the festive and the everyday, and the heavenly and the worldly coalesce at the deepest level. Pasta Oner is one of the most standout exponents of the contemporary Czech art scene. Although the core of his work touches on principles of "post-production", his work goes beyond the current dominant movements of postconceptual strategies in visual art, uniting with and exceeding the classic genre categories of Pop Art and cartoon aesthetics. Pasta Onera's oeuvre, which includes acrylic painting, the creation of hanging paintings, design of spatial objects, sculptures, installations, and the execution of murals, characteristically reflects and ironizes contemporary pop culture society. The artist places the common themes of fascination with the world of wealth, sex, faith, luxury goods and consumer beauty into the new, current context of a cybernetic society, a world exponentially growing at the speed of data transfer, the world of the short video aesthetic of everyday life. This world, of which Pasta and we are necessary a part, fills his socially committed reflections. The artist's work is a found heads and tails of the heaven and hell inside every one of us. Pasta Oner has participated in about thirty group exhibitions, and in recent years he has held four large solo exhibition projects (Peep Show, Man on Fire, Recall, Last Days in Paradise). Beyond his art studio and gallery work, he often represents the Czech Republic at official cultural and social events abroad (EXPO Shanghai, 2010; Summer Olympics in London, 2012; exhibition at MAB, Brasilia 2012; mural in Magnitogorsk, 2014; Saatchi Gallery exhibition, London 2015).
