From the expert opinion of Ing. Arch. Tomáš Prokůpek, curator of the Ondřej Sekora collection: "Although this work is unsigned, it is undoubtedly the work of the artist Ondřej Sekora (1899–1967). His authorship can be substantiated by several facts. First and foremost, a published reproduction of this drawing can be traced. It was printed in the children’s magazine Mateřídouška, Vol. 3, 1947, No. 1, p. 5. There, it accompanied the fairy tale “O kohoutkovi a slepičce” (About the Rooster and the Hen), which is further noted as originating from František Bartoš’s Kytice, and Sekora’s name is similarly listed there as the author of the drawing. The original under examination corresponds to the printed reproduction down to the smallest detail and also corresponds to the masterful drawing style that was characteristic of Ondřej Sekora in the second half of the 1940s. Similarly, it can be confirmed that the age of the paper on which the drawing was created corresponds to the time of its creation and that it is the same type of paper on which other illustrations by Sekora for *Mateřídouška* were drawn, which are currently part of the Ondřej Sekora collection at the Moravian Museum."
