Ota Janeček (1919 - 1996) FEMALE NUDE

Ota Janeček’s work from the 1970s and 1980s is characterized by a dreamy and delicate line. His drawings of girls and female nudes run continuously through his oeuvre and serve as a chronological record of his artistic origins. Initially, he drew inspiration from Amedeo Modigliani, but through gradual refinement, he arrived at his own intimate style of drawing, which is above all intensely emotional and masterfully executed—almost calligraphically—in ingenious shorthand.
