At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, cast iron in the Czech lands represented a phenomenon that linked industrial expansion with high-quality craftsmanship. During this period, cast iron became an integral part of public spaces, architecture, and private interiors. The Czech lands were among the European leaders in the production of decorative and utilitarian cast iron. Among the most significant ironworks were those in Blansko, Podbrdsko, and the engineering works in Prague and Central Bohemia. This chrome-plated cast iron table from the Historicist period exemplifies the exceptional quality of craftsmanship and high artistic decorativism of the late 19th century. Excellent condition.
