Karolína Mitašová (1959) MYSTERY

After completing her five-year degree at the Czech Technical University in Prague, Karolína Mitašová spent two years studying architecture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. She focuses on graphic design and also devotes herself intensely to painting, in which she finds the core of her creative work. Her paintings have been exhibited in places such as the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. Her work is characterized by an effort to blend and harmonize order and chaos. She herself says that it is not possible to view her paintings rationally. The colorful abstract world of Karolína Mitašová’s paintings is organic and vibrates with a certain striving for harmony. The experience is expressed matter-of-factly and spontaneously; in some compositions, a carefully crafted rhythm and a certain structural quality prevail, while in others, soft pastel lyricism and emotional depth dominate.
