Šaloun's work with natural curves of movement made the act of the girl Poppy a timeless work. It reflects the transition from an academic rigid figure to the avant-garde. Ladislav Šaloun (1870–1946) – sculptor and illustrator, student of T. Seidan and B. Schnirch, is one of the key figures of Czech Art Nouveau symbolism in sculpture.
