ART NOUVEAU CHANDELIER

An exceptional chandelier featuring a ring with the signs of the zodiac, each finely executed. Designed by Bohumír František Antonín Čermák (1882–1961), who also used the German form of his name, Gottfried Franz Anton Czermak, until 1918. He was a Brno-based architect and decorative arts designer associated with Viennese Modernism and the circle of Otto Wagner. In 1910/1911, he founded the Uměleckořemeslné dílny (Bürgerliche Handwerkkunst) in Brno, which produced complete interiors, furniture and decorative objects according to his designs. Electrified.
