From the expert opinion of PhDr. Naděžda Blažíčková-Horová: "The submitted oil Rendez-vous is an indisputable and charming work of the painter Josef Navrátil, probably from the 1840s. It is probably a wall painting to decorate one of the numerous interiors that Navrátil painted during his lifetime. With a close connection between arts and crafts, Navrátil's work belongs to the unique and specific manifestations of Czech painting of the 19th century. His painting and decorative workshop was the only one in Prague that combined craftsmanship and artistic activity. The whole scene with a girl sitting under a tree with two sheep at her feet and a kneeling young man is framed by a decorative frame and features a rococo sweet pastel color, which is typical for Navrátil."
