This ingenious game table, featuring a top made of hammered copper from which drawers for playing games slide out, is an elegant example of late Czech Art Nouveau inspired by the Wiener Werkstätte workshops in Vienna. The table leg is decorated with an inlaid mother-of-pearl ornament. Geometric Art Nouveau represents the final phase of the Art Nouveau style in the Czech lands, emerging around 1905 and peaking around 1910–1914. It is a style that moves beyond early Art Nouveau with its organic, undulating lines and turns toward a stricter order, simplicity, and rational geometric forms. Excellent condition.
