Alois Jaroněk was born on April 23, 1870 in Zlín and together with his brother Bohumír and his sister Julia they formed an artistic trio, which complemented each other in artistic creation and work for art and the Wallachian region. Both Bohumír and Alois completed woodcarving and modeling studies at a school for wood processing. After graduation, Alois became a modeler of luxurious majolica in Pest. Although his work is influenced by elements of Art Nouveau, he strictly retains his distinctive character with the folk elements of Wallachia. The rooster as a potential symbol of life and vitality was one of his favorite motives.
