The design philosophy of the renowned architect and designer Paolo Piva was characterized by an emphasis on minimalist lines with geometric elements, using high-quality materials. Paolo Piva lived alternately in Vienna and Milan, where he worked on architectural projects, furniture designs, and industrial design. His long collaboration with B&B Italia resulted in design icons such as the limited-edition Alanda coffee table (1980).
