Olbram Zoubek (1926 - 2017) MUSIC LISTENERS

In his artistic practice, Olbram Zoubek has developed a distinctive style based on a highly expressive, almost tactile approach to material and verticality. After graduating from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Josef Wagner’s studio, Olbram Zoubek turned to the restoration of historical sculptures and sgraffito, primarily because, as an artist, he was considered a threat to the regime and was unable to exhibit officially. He continued to devote himself to sculpture, however; in 1996, he was awarded the Medal of Merit, First Class, a state honor.
