A carved wooden stool consisting of a circular seat and base, with stylised anthropomorphic figures positioned between them, featuring prominently modelled heads, openwork mouths and circular eyes. The surface has a dark patina with traces of reddish and white pigment preserved in places. Northern Cameroon, Donga River region, Mambila people, late 19th to early 20th century. A comparable Mambila stool from the Bang group is held in the collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, inv. no. 1972.4.32.
