Ritual oil lamp of the sukunda type, made of cast brass, with a bulbous ribbed reservoir and a projecting oil dish. The rich relief decoration includes a figure of Ganesha above the oil dish and figural and zoomorphic motifs around the handle, referring to Hindu iconography. The surface has a pronounced patina consistent with the age and use of the object. Probably Kathmandu Valley, Newar culture.
