SABRE WITH THE AUSTRIAN IMPERIAL EAGLE

A sabre with a slightly curved single-edged blade and a richly decorated brass basket hilt. The pierced and relief-decorated guard features foliate motifs and the Austrian Imperial double-headed eagle with a crown and shield on its breast. The grip is covered in shagreen (probably ray or shark skin) and divided by transverse ribs. Blackened metal scabbard with a single suspension ring. The blade bears a patina.
