Jaroslav Panuška (1872 - 1958) SEA COAST

Panuška had a lifelong love of nature and began painting simple motifs from the open countryside while still a student at the Prague Academy around 1893. After two decades of leaning toward Symbolism—a period that gave rise to his well-known fairy-tale and eerie scenes—he returned after 1920 to painting realistic landscapes using Impressionist techniques.
