ersatile artist Dalibor Chatrny, a product of the Brno art scene, is one of the most distinctive and productive exponents of Czech post-war abstract art. Besides graphic art, on which his work is based and to which he returned throughout his life, Chatrny uses a wide range of other means of expression, thoroughly examining and exploring all aspects and opportunities that the medium he is working with provides. In addition to traditional means of expression, he was intuitively drawn to the contemporary expressions of action art and conceptual art. He has long studied the connections between the semantic contents of words and their possible visual forms. Besides artistic interpretations of photographs, he has also created several audiovisual works.
