Kamil Lhoták is one of the key figures in Czech painting of the second half of the 20th century. Technological achievements, ladies and gentlemen on bicycles, hot-air balloons and automobiles, urban and fantastical landscapes. Kamil Lhoták was fascinated by the interplay between people, technology, and the landscape, yet he did not deny his world a certain poetic quality and nostalgia.
