Zdeněk Sklenář (1910 - 1986) SAN GIMIGNANO

In Zdeněk Sklenář’s artistic career, 1957 was the year of his trip to Italy, following in the footsteps of Arcimboldo and capturing his impressions from his travels. Zdeněk Sklenář developed his own unique artistic language, which he successfully applied to both his free artistic work and his illustrations. A turning point came with his trip to China, when his signature style became distinctly evident and his works took on a calligraphic quality.
