František Slabý (1863 - 1919) AN AUTUMN ALLEY

Precise and at the same time full of autumn atmosphere - such is the scene of František Slabý, who was a very talented landscape painter and showed a great color vision for depicting nature. He studied at the Prague Academy of Fine Arts under Professor Julius Mařák, he also studied in Krakow. His paintings were reproduced in the magazine Zlatá Praha and he also illustrated Erben's book Kytice. The autumn alley perfectly expresses a very emotional light situation, when the sun shines through the colored leaves and reflects on the water surface.
