Josef Král (1877 - 1914) POND WITH WATER LILIES

Josef Král studied at the academy under Julius Mařák and later under Rudolf von Ottenfeld. He won a travel scholarship and painted in Germany and France. On his travels, he focused mainly on painting the environment with ships and railways, but in his home environment he painted lovely atmospheric landscapes with village houses, rivers and trees in the early evening light.
