FRENCH OFFICER’S SABRE

A sabre with a slightly curved blade and a richly decorated brass hilt. The curved grip is engraved with foliate ornament and terminates in a sculpted lion’s head with a ring in its mouth. The straight crossguard has spherical terminals and is decorated on both sides with relief busts in the Classical style. Black scabbard with richly decorated brass mounts and two suspension rings.
