Michael Powolny (1871 - 1954) VÁZA TANGO LOETZ

The vase belongs to the celebrated Tango series, characterized by the striking contrast between vividly colored opaline glass and applied black decoration. Both its form and manufacturing technique correspond to products of the Johann Loetz Witwe glassworks from around 1915, and it was most likely produced after a design by Michael Powolny, one of the leading designers associated with the Tango collection.
